A simple message shared to the official Naruto Twitter account hints at an update on the manga series by Masashi Kishimoto is scheduled for Saturday December 17th, 2022.
The tweet and image contain the same message: Naruto Starts 12.17.2022 (JST). In the image, the text overlays a collage of character portraits from the manga.
The date coincides with Jump Festa, an event hosted by Japanese publisher Shueisha showcasing its manga properties, which runs December 18th-19th, 2022 in Tokyo. Naruto was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump; its follow-up series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, is circulating in the monthly V Jump magazine.
The Naruto manga celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019, with the anime reaching that same milestone on October 3rd of this year.
