As the days get darker, there’s no shortage of Christmas lights to warm those gloomy evenings around the Lower Mainland. Bring the family out and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells during this wonderful time of the year. Remember to dress appropriately and wear the proper footwear as it may be icy or slushy out.

Festival of Lights

Where: VanDusen Botanical Gardens in Vancouver

Bright Nights in Stanley Park

Complimentary to the Stanley Park Train (which is not operational due to mechanical issues), the plaza outside is still lit up with decorations and lights and warm winter treats to snack on.

Lights at Lafarge Lake

Where: Lafarge Lake, Coquitlam

The largest light display in the region surrounds Coquitlam’s Lafarge Lake. Within walking distance of SkyTrain, wander the trails and enjoy the brilliant displays, perfect for a family night out.

Surrey Tree Lighting

Where: Surrey City Hall

Watch the giant Christmas Tree outside of Surrey City Hall be lit up with live music, food trucks, local merchants and even rides!

Winter in the Village

Where: Steveston, Richmond

When: December 1st – 31st, 2022

Wander Steveston under the lights, check out decorated boats, take a break with Santa Claus and even snap a few selfies around the village for an evening of family-friendly fun.

Canyon Lights

Where: Capilano Suspension Bridge, North Vancouver
