Demon Slayer returns to theatres March 2023 in Canada and US for new season

Anime streaming giant Crunchyroll has announced they are holding a movie event to celebrate the upcoming Swordsmith Village Arc of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba in theatres across Canada and the United States starting March 3rd, 2023.

The movie event comprises of the last two episodes of the Entertainment District Arc (Episode 10 “Never Give Up” and Episode 11 “No Matter How Many Lives”), followed by the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc. Details of which theatre chains will screen these episodes is expected in the coming months, though it’s likely Cineplex will in Canada.

Additionally, Crunchyroll is also hosting a world tour in 2023 with stops in Europe, Asia and Central America: Tokyo, Japan on February 4th and 5th; Los Angeles, California on February 18th; Paris, France on February 25th; Berlin, Germany on February 26th; Mexico City, Mexico on March 4th; Seoul, South Korea on March 11th; and Taipei, Taiwan on March 19th.

Attending the Los Angeles event are Tanjiro Kamado’s voice actor Natsuki Hanae, JPop singer Aimer and series producer Yuma Takahashi.

The new story is an adaptation of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga by Koyoharu Gotoge and will heavily involve the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji. Viz Media publishes the English-translated version of the manga in North Amerca.

February 9th, 2023 update

Both Cineplex and Landmark Cinemas will screen the movie dubbed in English and in Japanese with English subtitles according to their web sites. Advance tickets are now available.
