On Friday, it was revealed which song was selected as the opening theme is for the upcoming Swordsmith Village arc in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: “Kizuna no Kiseki” by Japanese rock band MAN WITH A MISSION and singer milet.

The announcement was made on social media, with a snippet of the song uploaded to YouTube.

Formed in 2010, MAN WITH A MISSION, noted for always wearing wolf heads while performing, is made up of vocalist Tokyo Tanaka, guitarist Jean-ken Johnny, bassist Kamikaze Boy, disc-jockey DJ Santa Monica, and drummer Spear Rib. According to the band’s web site, the members were created by a Dr. Jimi with incredible intelligence and super human strength, but were locked away in icy stasis. With conflict abound and the world under attack, MAN WITH A MISSION were freed by the melting ice and ready to resume their duties. Anime fans are familiar with the band with their songs used as the opening themes to My Hero Academia, Vinland Saga, The Seven Deadly Sins and GOlden Kamuy.

Milet began singing professionally in 2018, leading to her songs being selected for the closing themes of Vinland Saga and Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. The world was introduced to Milet with her rendition of “Hymne à l’amour” at the closing ceremonies of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The Swordsmith Village arc is an adaptation from the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, which will focus on the journeys of the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji alongside Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Swordsmith Village arc is scheduled to air in April 2023. Aniplex and Crunchyroll are hosting special screening events of the first episode globally leading up to its broadcast. Crunchyroll will stream the episode as they air.
