The Canadian theatrical release of The Colors Within from director Naoko Yamada is scheduled for Friday, January 24^th, 2025 according to GKIDS Films.

Cineplex and Landmark Cinemas will show The Colors Within in both Japanese with subtitles and dubbed in English.

GKIDS Films, which is handling the North American distribution of the film, posted a synopsis on their website.

Totsuko is a high school student with the ability to see the ‘colors’ of others. Colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a color she treasures as her favorite. Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town. As they practice at an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, forming friendships and stirring affections. Will they discover their true ‘colors’?

Directed by Naoko Yamada, produced by Eunyoung Choi, Yoshihiro Furusawa, Genki Kawamura, Wakana Okamura, and, Kohei Sakita with a screenplay written by Reiko Yoshida, music by Kensuke Ushio, and animation production by Science Saru, The Colors Within premiered in Japanese theatres on August 30^th, 2024.
