The manga Hirayasumi by Keigo Shinzo is being adapted into an anime through a joint effort between VIZ Media and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, according to a recent announcement from VIZ Media.

Animation is being handled by Production +h., which has worked on recent series The Orbital Children and Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction. Further details on staff, cast, or release schedule are expected at a later date.
A live-action drama is also being produced and scheduled to broadcast on Japan’s national service NHK G.
In a press release, creator Keigo Shinzo was quoted as saying “I’m so happy to hear it’s being adapted into an anime and a drama! I’m really looking forward to seeing both shows!” An illustration by Shinzo to commemorate this announcement was also provided.
VIZ Media supplied a synopsis of Hirayasumi in a press release:
At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn’t have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn’t be happier. Hiroto’s breezy attitude isn’t easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people around him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.
Hirayasumi began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine in April 2021; the English edition was first published by VIZ Media in May 2024.
