Work on the live-action The Legend of Zelda movie is progressing, with the Nintendo releasing still photos of Link and Zelda on its social media channels.
The Legend of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto was quoted in the social media post which contained a single image made of three horizontally-stacked photos: Link and Zelda together at top, followed by a close-up of their faces underneath.

English actress Bo Bragason is portraying Princess Zelda alongside fellow Englishman Benjamin Even Ainsworth as Link.
Link is shown wearing a green tunic similar to the one the character donned in the 2006 GameCube and Wii title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Though Zelda’s dress isn’t inspired by any specific outfit from a game, it does have a subtle Triforce pattern woven into the teal fabric.
Filming is reportedly taking place in New Zealand, although Nintendo did not confirm or deny this.
A projected release of the unnamed epic is scheduled for May 7th, 2027, was put forward by Nintendo.
Wes Ball is directing the film, while financing is provided through a partnership between Nintendo and Sony; Nintendo is fronting half of the cost of production while Sony distributes the film globally.
The Japanese gaming giant is banking upon the success of the 2023 animated The Super Mario Bros. Movie with a live-action take of another of their best selling franchises. That movie raked in $1,362,015,510 USD (approximately $1.9 billion CAD) globally.
