100 METERS

100 METERS to stream on Netflix starting December 31

Just in time for New Year’s Eve, Netflix, is adding film 100 METERS to its library, according to its anime Twitter/X account.

The social media post included a trailer of the film; it was also shared on YouTube.

Netflix describes 100 METERS as:

Togashi, a fast, natural-born runner (voiced by Tori Matsuzaka), meets Komiya (voiced by Shota Sometani), a hard worker whose encounter with Togashi sparks an obsession with the 100-meter dash.

100 METERS premiered in Japanese theatres on September 19th, 2025, followed by a North American run on October 12th, 2025. It was directed by Kenji Iwaisawa, with a screenplay written by Yasuyuki Muto, character designs by Keisuke Kojima, and music composition by Hiroaki Tsutsumi. Additional credits include production design by Keikankun Yamaguchi, colour design by Eiko Matsushima, cinematography by Maaki Komatsuki, editing by Ayumi Miyazaki, music direction by Takahiro Ikeda, sound design by Masaru Okawara, sound producer Eisuke Imanishi, sound production by Sonilude Inc., and casting directors Mai Ikeda and Azumi Matsumoto. Producers are Yusuke Terada, Yuki Katayama, and Akane Taketsugu, with animation production by Rock’N Roll Mountain. The band Official Hige Dandism performs the “Rashisa,” film’s theme song.

Appearing in the film are Tori Matsuzaka as the voice of Togashi, Shota Sometani as the voice of Komiya, Jun Kasama as the voice of Nigami, Rie Takahashi as the voice of Asakusa, Yuki Tanaka as the voice of Shiina, Atsumi Tanezaki as the voice of young Togashi, Aoi Yuki as the voice of young Komiya, Shota Sometani as Yuma Uchida as the voice of Kabanoki, Koki Uchiyama as the voice of Saizu, Kenjiro Tsuda as the voice of Kaido.

Written and illustrated by Uoto, 100 METERS was serialized in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket from November 6th, 2018, to August 6th, 2019. The manga, known in Japan as Hyakuemu, has not been translated into English for a North American release at this time, and is not listed on the Kodansha US website.
