Kaiju No.8

Kaiju No. 8 anime to end with final season, Gen Narumi anime short announced

Upon the conclusion of the Kaiju No. 8 by Naoya Matsumoto this past July, there’s still plenty content coming for fans of the monster manga as presented by the main voice cast of the anime during Jump Festa ’26.

Voice actors Masaya Fukunishi as the voice of Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8, Wataru Katoh was the voice of Reno Ichikawa, Kengo Kawanishi as the voice of Soshiro Hoshina, and Kouki Uchiyama as the voice of Gen Narumi presented the news on the Jump Super Stage this evening.

While the original story of Kaiju No. 8 has wrapped up, the group revisited their favourite scenes in the anime broadcast thus far. Then they moved to a birthday celebration for Gen Narumi, who was born on December 28th, and decided upon what gifts the First Division Captain needed: pink shampoo, VR goggles, and a digital detox.

Production has begun on Narumi’s Weekday, an original anime short, as well as the final season of Kaiju No. 8 where a recap trailer was played. Further details were not provided during the panel.

A Kaiju No. 8 mascot hand delivered a letter written by Naoya Matsumoto, which was read aloud by Masaya Fukunishi. In it, Matsumoto remarked on how 2025 was a big year for his creation, with the ending of the manga, broadcast of the second season and the video game. There is potential for a sequel and he is working hard to come up with new material and asks fans to look forward to Kafka Hibino and his friend’s future endeavours.
