Closing out the first day of Jump Festa ’26, the cast of SAKAMOTO DAYS arrived to make some important announcements regarding their series. On stage were Tomokazu Sugita as Taro Sakamoto, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura, Daisuke Namikawa as X(Slur), and Koki Uchiyama as Gaku.
The cast then split into two teams with Sakamoto and Shin versus X(Slur) and Gaku to draw a weapon the actor character wants to use. I’m not sure what Namikawa drew, but Tomokazu drew a kotetsu, Uchiyama drew a knife-looking weapon, and Shimazaki drew chi (an energy attack).
The highlight was that a second season of SAKAMOTO DAYS is now in production, though no further details were provided.
Also shown was a recent trailer for the SAKAMOTO DAYS live-action movie which is slated to hit Japanese theatres on April 29th, 2026.
A Taro Sakamoto mascot delivered a letter by Yuto Suzuki to Tomokazu Sugita, who then read aloud its contents. In it, Yuto thanked Jump Festa attendees as SAKAMOTO DAYS celebrates its 5th anniversary. He added that 2026 has a lot of projects planned, including the live-action film, art exhibition and second season of the anime. Yuto thanked his fans again and he will continue to work hard for their enjoyment.
