VIZ Media drops trailer and key visual for Hirayasumi

An anime adaptation of the manga Hirayasumi by Keigo Shinzo is confirmed for 2027, along with a new teaser traiker and key visual accompanying this announcement from VIZ Media.

In the illustration, 29-year-old Hiroto is seen with his elderly neighbour outside Hiroto’s recently acquired home.

Staff working on the anime include Director, series composition and script writer Kei Suezawa; character designs by Naoyuki Asano; art director Mika Nishimura; music composition by Kaori Sawada; and animation by Production +h.

VIZ Media describes Hirayasumi as:

At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn’t have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn’t be happier. Hiroto’s breezy attitude isn’t easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people around him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.

Hirayasumi began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits in April 2021. VIZ Media publishes the English‑language edition in both print and digital formats for Canada.

The manga has earned numerous accolades, including:

  • Grand Prize, 2021 Kagayake! Bros Comic Awards
  • 3rd Place, Manga Taisho 2022
  • 3rd Place, THE BEST MANGA 2022 – Kono Manga wo Yome!
