Marking the 10th anniversary of Boruto, a special music video has been released featuring scenes from the manga set to the song “BAKU” by Japanese rock band Ikimonogakari.
The release also coincides with the band’s 20th anniversary, having formed in 2006. Renowned for their hits “SAKURA,” “Arigato,” and “Blue Bird,” the band underwent a lineup change in 2021, becoming a duo. Currently, they are touring all 47 prefectures of Japan as part of their Ikimonogakari Minasan, Konnichiwa Tour!! “BAKU” was used as the eighth opening theme for the anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
The Shonen Jump YouTube channel is home to many other Jump MV music videos from characters under the Jump imprint umbrella including Gintama, Haikyu!!, and My Hero Academia. Key scenes from the manga are animated in tune to music selected from their anime adaptations.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations began serialization on May 9th, 2016, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. It was originally illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto and written by Ukyo Kodachi. The series transitioned to the monthly V Jump magazine in July 2019, and Kodachi stepped down from writing duties in November 2020, with creator Masashi Kishimoto taking over.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the current series, launched in August 2023. In Canada, the manga is available from VIZ Media in both digital and print formats, and it can also be read on the MANGA Plus app.
