In the midst of the 2014 Game Awards, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé introduced a short video segment hosted by Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma playing the upcoming The Legend of Zelda title for Wii U.
In the video, Aonuma is leading Link up a mountain to survey the vast valley below. Using the Wii U Game Pad, Miyamoto and Aonuma discuss the immense size of the overworld map. As in the E3 trailer, Link is able to ride a horse, but with improved controls allowing players to use their sword or bow to target enemies, as well as making surprising dismounts.
During the short demo, it was revealed that a new Star Fox title for Wii U will be released in 2015, but before The Legend of Zelda and that The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3DS has been a ten-year work in progress to improve gameplay and make it intuitive for the handheld release.
The Legend of Zelda for Wii U is still slated for launch in 2015.
