In recent weeks, social media has been buzzing about a new collaboration between Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and the hit anime and manga series ONE PIECE.
Images teased a Luffy Bento Bundle featuring two pieces of chicken, a side of mac and cheese, a Chopper’s Cupcake — a fluffy strawberry cake topped with strawberry frosting, and a vibrant purple Gum‑Gum Fruit Lemonade. Six Popeyes locations — Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; New Brunswick, NJ; New York City, NY; and Miami, FL — will even offer a limited‑edition orange bento box decorated with Luffy and the Popeyes logo.

The promotion finally set sail on Monday, April 13th, 2026.
However, here in Canada, the Luffy Bento Bundle includes two pieces of chicken, fried pickles, and a medium Coca-Cola drink of choice—no Gum‑Gum Fruit Lemonade and no collectible box. The Chopper’s Cupcake is sold separately for $4.00 extra.
It’s not clear why the menu options differ so drastically between the two countries.
Food often plays a central role in ONE PIECE, with Luffy known for his voracious appetite—especially his love of grilled meat on the bone.
In Japan, bento boxes are ubiquitous. These small, often decorated plastic containers are packed with delicious ingredients, from seafood to grilled meats. Premade boxes are sold everywhere—from konbini (コンビニ, convenience stores) to train stations, where they’re known as ekiben (駅弁, train‑station bento).
This promotion coincides with the premiere of the Elbaph Arc earlier this month. The anime is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and Netflix.
Popeyes is owned by Restaurant Brands International, a Toronto‑based company that also operates Tim Hortons, Burger King, and Firehouse Subs.
