Opening and closing themes to SAKAMOTO DAYS now available

The anime adaptation of SAKAMOTO DAYS premiered on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, and now the songs playing over the show’s opening and closing credits are streaming online.

Japanese singer-songwriter Vaundy performed “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN” as the opening theme to the anime. In a message from the artist, he recorded the song in London to “convey the inspirational protagonist Sakamoto’s overwhelming, unmatched strength”, adding that he hopes it “runs together with the manga, anime” and all of his fans.

“RUN SAKAMOTO RUN” released digitally on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 and is available on multiple streaming platforms.

For the closing, “FUTSUU” by three-piece Japanese rock band Conton Candy was selected, their first to appear in an anime. Comprised of vocalist and guitarist Tsumugi, bassist Fuka, and drummer Sayaka, they were excited to have been chosen, explaining the lyrics “reflect Aoi’s feelings toward Sakamoto.” The statement concluded asking fans to “listen to “FUTSUU” over and over”, creating an “amazing anime experience together!”.
