First English voices of Akane-banashi revealed

Ahead of the May 17th, 2026 premiere of Akane-banashi on Netflix, the official English social media account for the series has announced the English voice cast.

The English voice cast so far has confirmed Abby Trott (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, DAN DA DAN) as the voice of Akane Osaki, with Xander Mobus (Persona 5, Super Smash Bros.) as Shinta Arakawa, Matt Shipman (Sk8 the Infinity, Dr. STONE) as Kaisei Arakawa, Evan Michael Lee (Guilty Gear -Strive-, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War) as Issho Arakawa, and Brook Chalmers (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, ONE PIECE) as Shiguma Arakawa.

Directed by Ayumu Watanabe, with a script by Yuki Suenaga and animation production by Zexcs, Akane-banashi premiered on Saturday, April 4th, 2026. The opening theme “Hitotarashi” is performed by singer-songwriter Kuwata Keisuke. The series currently is available on YouTube in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese subtitles.

The series is adapted from the manga of the same name, written by Yuki Suenaga and illustrated by Takamasa Moue, which has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since February 2022. In Canada, VIZ Media offers the English-translated manga in print and digital formats; it is also available on Manga Plus.
