There’s a new multi-player Zelda game coming to the Nintendo 3DS handheld. The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is a new adventure that requires teamwork from all three players to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Nintendo announced the title as part of their press conference Tuesday morning at E3.

Three colourful variations of Link (Green, Red and Blue) in the visual style found in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds must partner up to overcome obstacles and bosses of dungeons to collect items. Some items can be used to create outfits that increase specific abilities to give the advantage in trickier levels or situations. Players share Link’s hearts to encourage cooperation, and a new “totem” feature allows each player to be stacked atop another to reach high ledges or objects.

Play with friends using the local wireless connection or over the Internet. Paper replicas of Link are available for rent to help complete the quests in single player mode.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is expected to be released in the fall of 2015.
