Anime streaming giant Crunchyroll will bring the long-awaited animated adaptation of Solo Leveling to a global audience with the premiere on Saturday, January 6th, 2024.
Crunchyroll provided a synopsis of the series:
Over a decade has passed since a pathway called a “gate” which connects this world and another dimension suddenly appeared, and people with superhuman powers called “hunters” have been awakened. Hunters use their superhuman powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates to make a living, and Sung Jinwoo, a hunter of the lowest rank, is considered the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind. One day, he encounters a double dungeon, a high-level dungeon hidden inside a low-level one. In front of a severely wounded Jinwoo, a mysterious quest window pops up. On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to take on the quest, which makes him the only person who can level up.
Solo Leveling is directed by Shunsuke Nakashige, with character designs by Tomoko Sudo, monster designs by Hirotaka Tokuda, music composition by Hiroyuki Sawano and K-pop band TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and animation production in cooperation between A-1 Pictures and Production I.G for motion graphics.
The series will stream on Crunchyroll in Japanese and dubbed in English; additional dubs are planned with premiere dates to be announced in the future.

Written by Chugong, Solo Leveling is a Korean web novel with a strong following; its popularity transformed it into a webtoon and manhwa in 2018. In North America, Yen Press publishes the English-translated novel and manhwa in both print and digital formats.
