Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump

Haikyu!! movie slams into Canadian theatres this May

The first of two final movies wrapping up the Haikyu!! anime is scheduled to hit theatres across Canada beginning Friday, May 31st, 2024.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have teamed up so that volleyball fans around the world can watch HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle on the big screen in both Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English.

Major Canadian cinema chains Cineplex and Landmark Cinemas will screen HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle across the country on regular screens and in IMAX beginning at the end of next month.

In addition to Canada and the United States, select countries across Latin America and Europe are also lined up for the movie.

Crunchyroll provided the synopsis of the movie in a press release.

Shoyo Hinata joins Karasuno High’s volleyball club to be like his idol, a former Karasuno player known as the “Little Giant.” But, Hinata soon finds that he must team up with his middle school nemesis, Tobio Kageyama. Their clashing styles turn into a surprising weapon, but can they beat their rival Nekoma High in the highly anticipated “Dumpster Battle,” the long awaited ultimate showdown between two opposing underdog teams?

In Japan, the film is known as Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump and opened on Friday, February 16th, 2024. As of March 29th, 2024, it has scored ¥8.5 billion JPY (approximately $57 million USD) from ticket sales.
