The cover artwork for volume 42 of the manga My Hero Academia was revealed ahead of its December 4th, 2024 release in Japan. As well, a special illustration announcing an art exhibition in Tokyo planned for the summer of 2025 was also shared.
Volume 42’s cover is a recreation of the first volume cover where a young student strides forward of a smiling Izuku “Deku” Midoriya stands in front of his fellow U.A. High School Class 1-A heroes. In the volume one cover, Deku is seen walking head of All Might and a group of the Pro Heroes.
The final manga will also include 38-page special depicting future events following the conclusion of the original story.
According Oricon News, an exhibition titled “Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia” is scheduled for June 21st, 2025 through August 31st, 2025 at the CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO in the Kyobashi neighbourhood of Chuo, Tokyo. A key visual drawn by Horikoshi himself of Tomura Shigaraki and Deku seated side-by-side, was also revealed.
Written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, the manga concluded on August 5th, 2024 following a ten-year run in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, where it was first serialized on July 7th, 2014.
In North America, Viz Media holds the license to publish the English-translated manga. No date is known for when the final volume of My Hero Academia will appear for sale within Canada and the United States.
