My Hero Academia: Vigilantes premieres on Crunchyroll on April 7, 2025

With only weeks before the premiere of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, new details are being revealed for the spin-off series based on Kohei Horikoshi’s hit manga. Crunchyroll will stream the anime starting Monday, April 7th, 2025, with new episodes following weekly thereafter.

An updated trailer included a sample of the opening theme “Kekka Orai” by Kocchi no Kento.

Another key visual was also shared, showcasing the major cast of heroes and villains.

The anime is being directed by Kenichi Suzuki, with series composition and script by Yosuke Kuroda, character designs by Takahiko Yoshida, art direction by Yukihiro Watanabe, colour designs by Haruko Nobori, 3DCG director Mizuki Sasaki, photography direction by Yingying Zhang, editing by Kiyoshi Hirose, music by Yuki Hayashi, Shogo Yamashiro, and Yuki Furuhashi, sound direction by Masafumi Mima, and animation production by bones film.

Crunchyroll provided a synopsis of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes in a press release:

Koichi Haimawari is a dull college student who aspires to be a hero but has given up on his dream. Although 80% of the world’s population has superhuman powers called Quirks, few are chosen to become heroes and protect people. Everything changes for Koichi when he and Pop☆Step are saved by the vigilante Knuckleduster and get recruited to become vigilantes themselves!

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, a prequel manga to Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia, is written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, was serialized first in Jump Giga before transitioning to Shonen Jump+ from August 20th, 2016 until May 28th, 2022. In North America, VIZ Media distributes the English-translated manga in print and digital formats.
