Spring forward with Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival this year

As winter gives way into spring, thousands of pink buds will begin peeking out of cherry trees across Metro Vancouver creating a colourful canopy over local streets. As a way to welcome these blooms, the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival has a number of city-wide events to celebrate the arrival of the season, including Sakura Days Japan Festival.

Yaletown Pop-Up

Blossoms After Dark

Take an evening walk beneath an illuminated canopy of cherry trees, with music, food and photo opportunities.

The Big Picnic

Admission? Free

Take part in the “hanami” — Japanese for flower viewing — to enjoy a picnic lunch under 100 akebono trees. As a family-friendly event, participate in origami, crafts, haiku, yoga, or grab a treat from the food trucks.

Blossom Block Party
