Excitement for the first film in the trilogy ending Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is at an all-time high. Building on that hype, a new teaser for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle was shown in Japanese theatres, of which was allegedly surreptitiously recorded and uploaded online.
The teaser appears following the credits of the 4K remaster of 2020’s hit Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train.
The recording, which was captured after the credits rolled for Mugen Train, caught the eye of animation studio ufotable which posted to Twitter/X a very stern warning against such illicit activities.
Translated, it reads:
A secretly recorded video of the theater-exclusive trailer for the “Infinity Castle Arc” that plays at the end of the main feature of the re-release of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” has been found on the internet.
Filming secretly in a theater is a crime under the “Law For The Prevention Of Stealthy Recording Of Films” (Anti-Piracy Filming Act).
In addition, uploading secretly recorded footage to X, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, etc. is seen as copyright infringement.
Any infringement in violation of the Anti-Piracy Filming Act and the Copyright Act may be punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years or a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both.
Japan takes piracy of its anime and manga incredibly seriously, utilizing agencies both nationally and internationally, to pursue and prosecute entities involved in thefts of Japanese media and intellectual property.
Canadian fans can watch the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trailer when Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train returns to theatres nationwide starting Wednesday, May 18th, 2025.
