A new video for Kingdom Hearts IV, shown during the Nintendo Direct presentation on June 9, 2026, offered a glimpse into Sora’s battles within a sprawling metropolis.
Known as Quadratum, the city pits Sora against new Heartless as well as the return of a cloaked figure reminiscent of those worn by Organization XIII. Sora’s partners, Donald and Goofy, make an appearance, but aren’t seen in any of the battle sequences.
The game uses an updated graphics engine to produce more realistic human characters.
Kingdom Hearts IV will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time as other platforms. No release date was provided.
