There’s a new cross over coming to the Nintendo 3DS; a simulation RPG titled Project X Zone (which is pronounced Project Cross Zone). Stocked with numerous characters from franchises owned by Capcom, Bandai Namco Games and Sega, some of which are very familiar, and others which haven’t been seen in years.

A 16 minute promotional video from Bandai Namco Games on YouTube provides a unique look at many of the popular and not so common names appearing in Project X Zone. Yes, Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter will be there, but also Ulala from Space Channel 5 – a musical game that appeared on Sega’s Dreamcast almost 12 years ago. Also included are scenes demonstrating special attacks and battle scenarios.

Project X Zone will hit Japanese store shelves on October 11th, 2012. No North American release date has been announced. Additional news, background information and supplementary videos can be found on the Japanese web site.
