Diaz comes to Vancouver, Weise goes to Montreal

Today, the Vancouver Canucks revealed that they have traded forward Dale Weise to the Montreal Canadiens for defenceman Raphael Diaz.

During the 2013-2014 season, Diaz played in 46 games with the Canadiens accumulating 11 assists for 11 points and 12 penalty minutes. Concurrently, Weise played in 44 games for the Canucks amassing three goals with nine assists for 12 points and 42 penalty minutes.

Diaz, who hails from Baar, Switzerland, was signed by the Canadiens on May 31th, 2011 while Weise, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was picked 111th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2008 NHL Draft and joined the Canucks on waivers in October 2011.
