Back in April when Mewtwo was made available as downloadable content in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, fans dissecting the data discovered hidden sound files for two characters: Fire Emblem‘s Roy and Street Fighter‘s Ryu. Now, two eight-second video clips leaked to the Internet unveil Roy and Ryu as characters in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U.

Roy Ryu

Roy previously appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Nintendo GameCube in 2001 and hasn’t made appearance since. In that game, the red-headed swordsman was a clone of Marth from the same franchise, who has since been playable in subsequent Super Smash Bros. titles. To mark his return, Roy’s outfit has been upgraded, but he still wields the Sword of Seals.

Ryu is recognized the world over from the popular Street Fighter fighting game. Wearing his trademark sleeveless white dojo uniform, red headband and gloves, Ryu has been training to be a perfect addition to the Smash Bros. series. Don’t underestimate his Hadouken and Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku attacks.
