Square Enix drops new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake with new scenes

This morning, Square Enix uploaded a new teaser featuring cutscenes and action sequences of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake that is due this coming April.

In the nearly four minute video, we’re treated to scenes featuring Shinra Electric Power Company executives President Shinra, Reeve Tuesti, Heidegger, Scarlet, Palmer, and the scheming scientist Hojo. As this game focuses on the first quarter of the original title set in the city of Midgar, segments with Cloud’s infiltration of the Honeybee Inn shown, alongside portions of the motorcycle chase, Shinra Tower and battles with Jenova and other enemies, including the mysterious Sephiroth. There’s also clips of two summons: Leviathan and Choco/Mog. The salacious Don Corneo also makes an appearance.

Cloud, Tifa, Barrett and Aerith struggle to save the planet from Shinra’s destructive methods of extracting its life force for energy and other purposes.

During the first half of the teaser, a song titled “Hollow” by musical composer Nobuo Uematsu and sung by Yosh is played; the remainder uses the “Those Who Fight Further” boss theme. “Hollow” is the new theme song for Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Final Fantasy VII Remake releases for the PlayStation 4 on April 10th, 2020.
