Back in May 2019, San-ei Co. LTD., shared a photo on social media of five plush characters from Intelligent Systems’ Fire Emblem franchise: Marth, Roy, Ike, Lucina, and Corrin (female), which would become available for purchase in late July 2019.

As the star of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade for the Game Boy Advance, Roy also makes an appearance, either in cameo roles or DLC, in other games including Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Fire Emblem Awakening, the mobile app Fire Emblem Heroes and in multiple titles of the Super Smash Bros. series.

Roy also has an unofficial day, June 1st. Just look for the hashtag #royday on social media.

Naturally, as Roy was part of the selection, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity and fearing these would sell out quickly, I found that Playasia was accepting pre-orders and at $22.99 USD (that’s about $33.15 CAD today, but you’ll probably spend more from a reseller). Of course, since I cheaped out on shipping (selecting SAL instead of EMS), Roy wouldn’t arrive until late August.

For a plush, Roy is quite detailed (just look at those eyes!) and is a rather faithful to his outfit worn in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. Because of the design, he’s more stable seated than standing, at a height of 27 cm (10.6 inches) and made of polyester fabric. No accessories accompany the Prince of Pherae, so don’t expect him to brandish the legendary Binding Blade. Still is pretty cool lookin’, though.

San-ei Co. LTD.’s take on the young lion is a must for any collector or fan of the Fire Emblem series. Collect them all; there’s four other amazing heroes from these fun games.
