For 35 years, Mario has graced Nintendo consoles from the early 1980s and is known and loved the world over. To celebrate this milestone, Nintendo is releasing a number of games, toys and more that were announced in a surprise Nintendo Direct video earlier today.

The first of these is Super Mario 3D All-Stars — three classic games starring the mustachioed plumber on the Nintendo Switch. This title contains the Nintendo 64 game Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine from the GameCube and the Nintendo Wii adventure Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario 3D All-Stars contains an in-game music player so when the console screen is off, they can listen to songs from their favourite worlds. Super Mario 3D All-Stars becomes available on September 18th, 2020.

Take racing to the next level using a real Kart controlled from a Nintendo Switch! In Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, players can race using a physical cart on any custom maps made inside their own houses with special gates to demarcate the track. Use boosts to overcome another racer, but watch out as the Kart will stop if it hits something. Unlock special items and power ups or play together with up to four friends. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit goes on sale October 16th, 2020 with two models: Mario or Luigi.

Relive the retro days of gaming with the Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. device. Like the classic portable console, it contains a clock and three games pre-loaded: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (known as Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan) and Ball. There’s also some 35 hidden features waiting for their owner to uncover. Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. goes on sale November 13th, 2020.

Grab some friends and jump into Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury for the Switch. An enhanced version of Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U now includes local and online multiplayer through multiple levels. Two new amiibo figures, Cat Mario and Cat Peach will launch at the same time as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on February 12th, 2021.

In Super Mario Bros. 35, it’s the classic Super Mario Bros. game… but with 35 players all playing at the same time! There’s a catch, enemies defeated in your level will appear in your opponents and vice versa. Speed and accuracy help, but so do power ups to give an advantage over everyone else. Super Mario Bros. 35 is a digital game only and available between October 1st, 2020 and March 31st, 2021.

And for those who want to enjoy the classics, Super Mario All-Stars brings remastered versions of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 to the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario All-Stars is a digital only game, launching later today.
