INFORMATIONAs of December 7th, 2020, the Vancouver Park Board has cancelled the Festival of Lights and Bright Nights in Stanley Park for the rest of the season.

As the days shorten and the sun sets earlier, the miniature train in Stanley Park will once again be lit up for the annual Bright Nights event in late November through December 2020.

Unlike previous years, a number of changes are being made to protect visitors during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These include mandatory masks, online-only ticketing, single-directional walkways, plastic dividers on the train, and capacity restrictions. Additionally, the plaza outside the station, while usually decorated with millions of lights and displays, is omitted this year, as is a visit from Santa Claus himself.

Local fire fighters will have a a small lights display at the entrance to accept donations towards the British Columbia Fire Fighters Burn Fund.

The Vancouver Park Board is also offering free parking at select parking lots on Pipeline Road, the information booth, at the Totem Poles and Brockton Point. Pay parking is in effect around the Vancouver Aquarium.

Tickets for Bright Nights in Stanley Park cost $10.00 CAD, and children two and under are free. There are no on-site ticket purchases and visitors are asked to show up at their designated time slot.

Bright Nights in Stanley Park opens on Thursday, November 26th, 2020 and runs until Friday, January 1st, 2021. It’s open daily between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm PST, and is closed on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th, 2020.
