Two announcements regarding SPY×FAMILY were made today at AnimeJapan in Tokyo: Twilight’s mission picks back up when the anime returns to the airwaves with the second season in October 2023, and, the movie, SPY×FAMILY CODE: White, is scheduled for theatrical release on December 22nd, 2023.

The news was shared on Twitter, which included artwork for the film, with the main cast of the Forger family: Yor, Bond, Anya, and Loid (aka Twilight), above snowcapped peaks with a town and arriving train.

First announced at Jump Festa last December, the then-untitled SPY×FAMILY CODE: White was revealed as a new story not carried in the manga by Tatsuya Endo, and that Endo himself is working on the script.

A specific date of when season two for SPY×FAMILY will broadcast is expected later this year.

Ostania and Westalis are at war — Westalis calls up their best spy, codenamed “Twilight”, to infiltrate and mingle with Ostania’s crème de la crème of society. Twilight — now as Loid Forger — builds his family, his new wife Yor Briar and adopted daughter Anya have their own special skills, unbeknownst to each other. This makes for unpredictable scenarios where each of their own true identities must remain a secret for the success of their mission.

SPY×FAMILY is an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Tatsuya Endo which appears in Shueisha’s online Shonen Jump+ in Japan and is published by Viz Media in North America. Outside of Asia, SPY×FAMILY is available subbed and dubbed on anime streaming service Crunchyroll.
