Haikyu!! the Movie: Battle at the Garbage Dump

Haikyu!! movie powers into Japanese theatres February 2024

The first of two final films closing out the volleyball anime Haikyu!! premieres in Japan on February 16th, 2024. Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump sets the stage for a confrontation between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School. The announcement was made on social media and included a teaser uploaded on YouTube.

Originally revealed in 2022, these two movies would complete the anime, which aired over four seasons from April 2014 until December 2020. Susumu Mitsunaka, who directed the anime, is serving as both writer and director for Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump.

Promotional artwork shows a vicious scene of Karasuno’s middle blocker Shoyo Hinata against Nekoma’s setter Kenma Kozume, both of whom are armed with knives indicating how serious their fight is.

It’s not known at this time if Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump will appear in Canadian or US theatres.
