Shonen Jump marks Naruto Uzumaki’s birthday with video

October 10th is Naruto Uzumaki’s birthday, so the official YouTube channel for Shueisha’s Shonen Jump magazine has released a video to celebrate the shinobi’s birthday.

The 101-second-long video animates scenes using Masashi Kishimoto’s artwork from the manga set to music. Relive Naruto’s journey from his days as a genin to the climactic battle with Sasuke Uchiha.

Naruto was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back on September 21st, 1999 and then subsequently adapted into an anime on October 3rd, 2002. The manga concluded with 72 volumes on November 10th, 2014, with over 250 million copies published globally; the anime ended on March 23rd, 2017. A sequel, Boruto -Two Blue Vortex-, by Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto, is currently serialized the monthly V Jump magazine.
