Crunchyroll to offer deluxe Blu-ray edition of Suzume

Step into a world on the verge of disaster as Crunchyroll brings Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume to Blu-ray, including a spectacular limited edition of the animated feature on March 12th, 2024.

Two versions of the 2022 film are being offered — a limited edition collector’s set that includes a 60-page art book and four postcards and a more basic standard edition. Both versions contains commentary by Shinkai himself, interviews, documentaries, trailers, and other special features.

The limited edition is priced at $64.98 USD; the standard edition at $34.98 USD.

Suzume premiered in Japan on November 11th, 2022, followed by a North American release on April 14th, 2023. It then returned for an encore performance in Canada and the US this past October.

Suzume Iwato is just your average 17-year-old student, but when a stranger enlists her help to find a door on her home island of Kyushu, everything changes. Random doors around Japan become portals where chaos seeps into the world and it’s up to Suzume who must shut them at all costs.

Suzume is the latest by famed filmmaker Makoto Shinkai, whose other noted works include Weathering With You and Your Name. The movie is directed by Shinkai, with Masayoshi Tanaka serving as character designer, Kenishi Tsuchiya as animation director, Takumi Tanji as art director, with animation production by CoMix Wave Films Inc.

Accompanying Suzume next March are Blu-ray releases of RWBY: Ice Queendom – The Complete Season on March 5th, 2024; then One Piece Season 13 Voyage 6, and The Legendary Hero Is Dead! – The Complete Season on March 12th, 2024.
