As the final character to appear in the Nintendo Switch fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sora from the Kingdom Hearts franchise is the last amiibo to complete the collection when he is released on February 16th, 2024.
Sora’s amiibo was unveiled during a Nintendo Direct video event in September, but a specific date was not provided at the time. Nintendo of Canada officially confirmed the release date as February 16th, 2024 in a post on Twitter/X.
Sizes for amiibos range from in height from 6.3 cm (2.4 inches) to 10.5 cm (4.1 inches) — it’s likely Sora will range in on the taller end of the scale. Despite having one of the more varied styles in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sora’s appearance is based on the protagonist’s outfit from the 2002 Kingdom Hearts game, utilizing the colours of Mickey Mouse — the mighty Disney mascot’s red pants and giant yellow shoes. Also present is the Kingdom Key, a large key-shaped sword that can also cast magic.
The chosen keyblade master was revealed as the last playable character in the popular Nintendo-exclusive fighter in October 2021.
