Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Cineplex to show Final Fantasy VII movie this month

It seems February is Final Fantasy month as Cineplex building hype for this classic series with a special single night screening of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024.

The Canadian cinema chain is showing the movie in Japanese with English subtitles. The Japanese voice cast features the talents of Takahiro Sakurai as Cloud Strife, Ayumi Ito as Tifa Lockhart, Shotaro Morikubo as Kadaj, Maaya Sakamoto as Aerith Gainsborough, Masahiro Kobayashi as Barret Wallace, Keiji Fujiwara as Reno, Taiten Kusunoki as Rude, Yuuji Kishi as Yazoo, and Kenji Nomura as Loz. Video game designer Tetsuya Nomura served as director; with Kazushige Nojima as script writer; and Shinji Hashimoto, Ichirou Hazama, Yoshinori Kitase, and Youichi Wada as producers.

Released on September 14th, 2005, the film is set two years after the events in the 1997 PlayStation hit Final Fantasy VII. A strange disease has manifested the world, while a small group endeavour to resurrect an old foe to advance their plans, forcing Cloud Strife back into action so he can save the day.

Part two of a remastered edition of the RPG titled Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches for the PlayStation 5 worldwide on Thursday, February 29th, 2024.
