The Leveling of Solo Leveling

Documentary follows Solo Leveling in its journey from web novel into anime

A new documentary exploring Solo Leveling exploring how the South Korean web novel progressed into a hit anime is now streaming on Crunchyroll.

Titled The Leveling of Solo Leveling, Crunchyroll partnered with French production company AllSo creating a two-episode feature that goes behind the scenes with its creators, producers and fans. The journey starts in South Korea where Chugong published the first chapters online, followed by its adaptation into a webtoon and then its transformation into an anime by Japan’s A-1 Pictures and Aniplex.

Solo Leveling has commanded a strong following since its initial publication in 2016; its popularity transformed it into a webtoon and manhwa in 2018, then with the anime in January 2024 which is available on Crunchyroll. In North America, Yen Press publishes the English-translated novel and manhwa in both print and digital formats.
