Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle

First Demon Slayer Infinity Castle film to premiere in 2025

The first film of the highly anticipated trilogy closing out the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series is slated to hit theatres in 2025 according to a press release from Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle international distribution, though no dates were provided. Based on previous theatrical releases, Canadian chains Cineplex, Landmark Cinemas and Cinémas Guzzo will likely screen the film. Further details are expected in the coming months.

The announcement, which included a trailer and key visual, was made during CCXP, an entertainment expo in São Paulo, Brazil. Takahiro Sakurai and Kengo Kawanishi, the Japanese voice actors for Giyu Tomioka and Muichiro Tokito alongside Daniel Figueira, the Brazilian voice of Tanjiro Kamado, were present.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle adapts the final arc of the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge. In it, Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps finally face off agains the demon king himself, Muzan Kibutsuji, inside his labyrithine lair — The Infinity Castle.

In Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, teenage Tanjiro Kamado and his sister Nezuko survive the slaughter of their family at the hands of demon Muzan Kibutsuji. Vowing take to revenge and return Nezuko to her human form, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps in partnership with the panicky Zenitsu Agatsuma and the boar-masked Inosuke Hashibira, in a quest to hunt down and defeat Muzan once and for all.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine between February 15th, 2016 and May 18th, 2020; in North America, Viz Media publishes the manga in print and digital formats. The anime premiered on April 6th, 2019; Crunchyroll is licensed to stream the series globally outside of Asia.
