Earlier this year, it was announced that Crunchyroll had acquired worldwide (excluding Belarus, Russia, and Asia — minus India) streaming rights to dystopian anime Gachiakuta. The series will premiere on the streaming service, starting Sunday, July 6th, 2025, both subtitled and dubbed in English.
Punished for a murder he did not commit, Rudo is cast into “The Pit;” a wasteland where monstrous creatures known as Trash Beasts roam freely. Rudo must survive this dangerous and desolate world to return home. The English voice cast is billed with:
- Bryson Baugus as Rudo
- Christopher Wehkamp as Enjin
- Corey Wilder as Zanka
- Katie Caruso as Riyo
- Zeno Robinson as Jabber
- John Burgmeier as Regto
Directed by Fumihiko Suganuma, staff also working on Gachiakuta include writer Hiroshi Seko, character designer Satoshi Ishino, music composer Taku Iwasaki, and animation production by Bones Film.

Following the end of each episode, Crunchyroll has scheduled a special The Gachiakuta After Show, hosted by the The Anime Effect Podcast, to recap its story, reactions and more.
Gachiakuta debuted February 16th, 2022 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, with Kodansha USA handling the English-language release in both print and digital formats for readers across North America.
