On Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, the My Hero Academia episode “Izuku Midoriya: Origin” first aired. To mark the occasion ten years later, a special anniversary event is being held in Tokyo, Japan.
The “My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary Start Event” event, hosted by Japanese voice actors Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo), Ayane Sakura (Ochaco Uraraka), and Kenta Miyake (All Might), is slated for 6:00 pm JST on Friday, April 3rd, 2026 (that’s 2:00 am PDT or 5:00 am EDT). There, they will announce a number of upcoming projects, including the broadcast of “More” from the special chapter by Kohei Horikoshi, which premieres on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.
As previously announced, a concert tour is underway, starting in Japan before heading to Europe in September. North American dates are expected sometime in April.
Fans in Japan can enter the “My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary Start Event” through a lottery system; the exact venue will be announced once winners have been drawn. The event will also stream live worldwide on Toho Animation’s YouTube Channel.
Adapted from Kohei Horikoshi’s manga, My Hero Academia was animated by Bones. The series concluded on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, after 170 episodes across eight seasons.
