My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission coming to Canadian theatres this October

We are here! Funimation is bringing the third film, My Hero Academia: The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission, with subtitles and dubbed into English to theatres in Canada, and globally, this October.

On October 29th, 2021, aspiring heroes can catch Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki on the big screen in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Fans in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa can watch a day earlier on October 28th, 2021; however, those in Scandinavia, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru will have to wait a little longer.

The film’s official web site has a short explanation of the plot involving the group Humarize as they attempt to eradicate any “individuals” (likely people with quirks) as they see fit. A specially formed “World Selection Hero Team” comprised of professional heroes from around the globe extends invites to the likes of of Izuku “Deku” Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo to stop Humarize from carrying out their scheme.

Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation performs the song “Empathy” which is played in the film.

First shown in Japan on August 6th, 2021, My Hero Academia: The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission proved popular by selling 1.58 million tickets for a total of ¥2.06 billion JPY (that’s approximately $23,611,544.30 CAD), from a report by Anime News Network.

Funimation will distribute the subtitled and dubbed editions of My Hero Academia: The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission as it did with the previous films My Hero Academia: The Movie: Two Heroes and My Hero Academia: The Movie: Heroes Rising.

My Hero Academia is currently in its fifth season and airs weekly every Saturday at 5:30 pm JST (1:30 am PDT / 4:30 am EDT) and streams on both Funimation and Crunchyroll.

  1. Hey just saw kurogiri’s flames and it just reminded me of the flames Deku had around him the first time he was in the “other” world with all for one and the other users of one for all. Who is to say that kurogi’s flames are not the quirk link between the real world and the “other” world where Kurogiri’s consciousness really is?
