Spring is in bloom for Sakura Days Japan Fair 2022

A rare trifecta of good weather, cherry trees in full blossom and a festival in VanDusen Botanical Gardens made for a perfect start to the weekend in Vancouver.

After being on hiatus for the last two years, Sakura Days Japan Fair is back for the weekend of April 9^th-10^th, 2022. Filled with all sorts of Japanese food, merchandise, music, performances and fun, the event is a great way to enjoy these lush gardens at the height of the sakura or cherry blossom.

Even though I bought my Nikon D610 in December 2019, this was the first real test I’ve given it with my 50mm f/1.8G and 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G lenses. I’m surprised at how well I was able to capture the treats, both natural and tasty, despite not doing any serious photography in the last two years.
