The unlikely duo of Fuuko Izumo and Andy are coming to television in 2023 with the anime adaptation of the manga Undead Unluck by Yoshifumi Tozuka.

The announcement was shared on the manga’s official website and social media channels, including Twitter. Details are limited but that David Production will handle the animation of the show, with planning and coordination from Unlimited Produce by TMS Entertainment. Casting information was not mentioned.

Considered unlucky and relegated into isolation following an event that claimed the lives of over 200 people, including her own parents, Fuuko Izumo wishes her life was more like the manga she is working on. By chance, a complete stranger who is unable to die, finds himself in an unlikely partnership with Fuuko, who subsequently decides to name him “Andy.” Fuuko and Andy now find themselves being persuaded to join a group called Union to pursue others…

Appearing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since January 2020, Undead Unluck has 12 published volumes, with the 13th being released on September 2nd, 2022. In North America, Undead Unluck is available in print and digital formats from Viz Media.
