AMC Networks, which owns Sentai Filmworks and streaming service HIDIVE, have announced a new partnership with Japan’s Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) that will see a large portion of anime programming from MBS simulcast to global audiences outside of Asia on HIDIVE.
In the announcement, it was revealed that The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: from Villainess to Savior will join the programming line-up in July 2023. Comprised of 12 episodes adapted from the fantasy light novel written by Tenichi and published in Japan by Ichijinsha Inc. and Seven Seas Entertainment in North America, staff involved are director Norio Nitta, writer Deko Akao and animation by OLM, Inc.
Also mentioned in the release is Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte, another series based on a fantasy light novel. A full list of titles is expected at a later date.
The addition of The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: from Villainess to Savior to HIDIVE’s library “will significantly elevate HIDIVE’s reputation with fans as not only the new go-to anime streaming platform but also as the pipeline to some of Japan’s most highly anticipated titles,” said John Ledford, President of Sentai Filmworks and HIDIVE.
Shinji Nakano, Director of Mainichi Broadcasting System, Inc. stated: “We are pleased to partner with Sentai Filmworks, HIDIVE, and AMC Networks, a group that plays a huge part in this effort to further expand anime culture. We are accelerating our commitment to bringing anime to people around the world, without ever stopping our journey.”
