Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to launch in early 2024

The long-awaited follow-up to Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to the PS5 in both physical and digital formats in early 2024 according to Square Enix. Titled Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the news included a new trailer for the game providing a glimpse into what fans can expect.

Square Enix is releasing a completely redone version of the original 1997 PlayStation title Final Fantasy VII overhauling its graphics, storyline and controls. Final Fantasy VII Remake, the first part, was launched on PS4 in 2020.

For those looking to purchase a physical copy of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will find it is split across two discs, not unlike the original four-disc release.

In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, and Aerith explore the rest of the continent outside of the metropolis Midgar, taking them to the seaside town of Junon, Fort Condor and the Mythril Mine. Even the Chocobos will let players hop on their back for a quick ride!

Yoshinori Kitase, Producer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, stated “the entire team has worked fervently with love and adoration for the world of FINAL FANTASY VII, reaching new heights of cinematic storytelling, immersive combat, rich exploration and more, and we can’t wait to share more details later this year.”
