Maou is back behind the counter with a second season of The Devil is a Part-Timer! which will begin broadcasting on July 13th, 2023 in Japan on TOKYO MX, BS11, MBS, and Disney+.
A new trailer to mark this announcement was shared to YouTube; in it are clips of the opening theme “City Without Light” by nano.RIPE and the closing theme “bloomin'” by Liyuu. Also included are the appearance of three new characters: Farfarello voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, Erone voiced by Megumi Han, and Camael voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi.
A powerful demon king named Satan looks to extend his rule over the world of Ente Isla but is stopped short by the hero Emilia. Escaping through a portal, he ends up in modern-day Japan. Unable to use his magic powers, Satan — now Maou Sadao — relents and dons a uniform to work at the fast-food chain MgRonalds. Unknown to Maou, Emilia has pursued him into Japan and takes up office work as she looks to confront her enemy. Things get out of hand as Maou and his cohorts attempt to adjust to the fast-paced life in Tokyo.
The Devil is a Part-Timer! is adapted from the light novel of the same name written by Satoshi Wagahara. The first season ran for 13 episodes from April 4th, 2013, until June 27th, 2013, followed by a 12-episode follow-up between July 14th, 2022, and September 29th, 2022.
In North America, Yen Press handles publication of the English translated light novel and manga while dubbed and subbed versions of the anime are available on Crunchyroll.
