Anime streaming giant Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have been handed a new mission — to bring the feature film SPY×FAMILY CODE: White to theatres across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Oceania next year.
Details are limited at this time. It is not yet known the exact date when SPY×FAMILY CODE: White will premiere in Canada or which theatres will screen the movie, except that is being shown subtitled and dubbed in English.
Outside of Canada and the United States, fans in Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland can catch the action on the big screen.
He’s a spy. She’s an assassin. Together, Loid and Yor keep their double lives to themselves while pretending to be the perfect family. However, their adopted daughter Anya, a telepath, knows both of their exciting secrets unbeknownst to them. While under the guise of taking his family on a weekend winter getaway, Loid’s attempt to make progress on his current mission Operation Strix proves difficult when Anya mistakenly gets involved and triggers events that threaten world peace!
The movie follows an original story not appearing in the manga and anime. It is directed by Takashi Katagiri, with a script written by Ichiro Okouchi based on the work by Tatsuya Endo, and with animation production by WIT STUDIO x CloverWorks. The song “SOULSOUP” by Official Hige Dandism was recently revealed as the movie’s theme.
SPY×FAMILY, written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, is currently serialized in Shueisha’s online platform Shonen Jump+ in Japan and by Viz Media in North America, and is also available for a global audience on the MANGA Plus app. The anime aired on April 9th, 2022, split into two cours, followed by a second season on October 7th, 2023, and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
SPY×FAMILY CODE: White is slated to open in Japanese theatres on December 22nd, 2023.
