While Rockstar Games finally gave gamers a peek at the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI, they still need to wait a little longer as the teaser video gives a target date of 2025.
Set in the sunny beachfront metropolis of Vice City, GTA VI spans multiple tropical islands, sandy shores, a bustling port, luxurious high-rises, and sparsely populated rural swamps — a complete overhaul from the environment last fully explored in the 2002 title Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Criminal couple Lucia and Jason find themselves in Vice City, swept up into its seedy underworld, glitzy nightlife and humid environment as they try to make their new life outside of prison.
Rockstar Games had originally planned to show the teaser on Tuesday morning, but released it early after it was leaked to YouTube. Development of the game was hampered by a hacker attack in 2022 that saw content from the in-progress game posted online.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
No further details were revealed in the video.
