It’s been a solid while since Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has aired, however the staff working on the show have drawn up a new illustration for the spring season.
The artwork features Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, Shikamaru Nara, Chocho Akimichi, Inojin Yamanaka, Shikadai Nara, and Boruto Uzumaki inside a hall with Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, Choji Akimichi, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki reflected in the glass.
Part one of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations ran for 293 episodes between April 5th, 2017 through March 26th, 2023. Production on a second series is still underway, but a premiere date is not yet known at this time.
An interview with Studio Pierrot CEO Michiyuki Honma suggested that production of the anime would potentially shift from a yearly format into seasonal, bringing it inline with hit shows like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Doing so would improve on staff workload and quality issues, including a reduction in the notorious filler episodes that plagued its prequels Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden.
